First there were ten busy days spent all over the Greater Chicago Area, hosted by wonderful friends helping to spread the word about Education and Hope. Then back to Connecticut for only three days, just enough time to unpack, do laundry, and re-pack before leaving again for three weeks in Guatemala. Both successful, great trips, filled with loving friends and joyful kids, but it was a long time to spend away from Gordon and Chloe. There have been many beautiful, sunny, early summer days since my return from Guatemala, but my favorite moments have found all three of us curled up on the couch with coffee and a pile of Sunday Times. (Gordon saves them up for when I come home; he says it’s not the same reading the Sunday paper alone.) Finally finding some time to sift through photos and thoughts of recent places and events. Lots of good things to show and tell from all this time away, but catching back up with my family was first on my list of things to do. So grateful to have been graciously received everywhere I’ve been, but equally grateful to be back in our little cottage, surrounded by the Connecticut love.
