100 Faces of Hope/ 12: Everyday Gratitude!

We talk about gratitude a lot at Education and Hope. Our students face substantial challenges in their home lives but often study in environments where their classmates are considerably more advantaged. This can be an incredibly isolating experience so I continually encourage our community to focus on the ways in which we are blessed, to name the things we are grateful for. One of the teachers had her young students keep a classroom gratitude journal that the kids did as a group activity. They presented me with the journal as a gift at the end of the academic year. I’ve been picking it up daily and each time what I feel is my own gratitude for all of the generous ways our community is supported, making possible the day-to-day activities that enrich so many lives. Thank you for being our invisible faces of hope, for all that you share to ensure a brighter future for our children and their families. Happy Thanksgiving!
